Those interested in applying for the newest Habitat home are asked to fill out an application available on-line here.
Future potential homeowners are chosen based on their need for affordable housing and their willingness to partner with Habitat. They must have the ability to commit to pay an affordable monthly mortgage, which includes insurance and taxes. They must also be able to put in 300 hours of “sweat equity”, actual labor on the home.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fredericksburg will be holding two meetings for potential Habitat homeowners to attend. Application meetings will take place on Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2 pm and Wednesday, February 7 at 6 pm.
Meetings will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church, 424 W. Main, in the conference room. Parking for the meetings is behind the church, with access on Austin Street. Those wishing to apply for Habitat Home #17 must attend one of these two meetings to learn of the qualification and criteria for being a future Habitat homeowner.
